AtW assisted Pioneer Works cultural center in a modest expansion and modernization of the three-story former factory on Brooklyn’s Red Hook waterfront to better serve its needs as a multidisciplinary studio, exhibition, and performance space. The team worked closely with this artist-run, dynamic facility to envision growth, expand critical spaces, address overdue masonry and roofing repairs, and provide oversight on construction. Leaving this unique space in good health, allowing it to evolve to better serve the needs of everyone who walks through its doors, is a rewarding experience.
